My interests include wireless spectrum policy, wireless standards, technology management, wireless communications, and marketing. I am a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Illinois. I am also a certified ARRL Volunteer Examiner for Amateur Radio licenses. I manage the websites for several small businesses and organizations. I also design for print media, and I do some audio and video production, including voice-over work.
I have participated in numerous FCC proceedings, taking part in all steps from ideation to preparing and submitting formal Comments and Reply Comments in wireless spectrum policy matters. I have also given presentations to the FCC Office of Engineering and Technology (OET) Staff as well as various FCC Commissioners.
My current affiliations include the IEEE, including the Broadcast Technology Society, the North Shore Radio Club. and the Garden Photo Society. I am also a member of ETSI. I am a former member of IEEE 802.22.
A few of my areas of expertise include Audio and RF Design, Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC), Wireless Standards, Spectrum Policy, Graphic Design, Photography, and Web Design.
I earned my B.S. and M.S. degrees in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) from Northwestern University. I also hold an MBA degree with a concentration in Telecommunications Policy from the Keller Graduate School of Management with distinction.
Some of my other interests include Amateur Radio, Fitness Sports, Wireless Technology, Web Development, Computers, Music, and Travel. I enjoy many kinds of music, but especially classical music. I collect old radios and I also operate a low power (Part 15) classical AM radio station.
